DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Dorchester County Detention Center employee was arrested by State Law Enforcement Division agents Friday after being accused of stealing over $80,000 from the facility.
According to a release from SLED, 44-year-old Lillian Thomas, of Walterboro, was charged with one count of breach of trust over $!0,000 for her connection to the missing detention center deposits.
Thomas faces a 10-year prison sentence and fines up to $500 if she is convicted.
She was also charged with misconduct in office, SLED agents said, a charge that carries one year in prison and a $1,000 fine if she's convicted.
