BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - Dozens of veterans have new leads on jobs after attending a job fair in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
The Beaufort Gazette reported that about 130 veterans and active duty military personnel attended the job fair in Beaufort on Wednesday.
The job fair was 1 of 590 that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation has held across the nation in the past 2.5 years.
The effort, called "Hiring Our Heroes" is designed to find jobs for veterans and their spouses.
The goal is to get 500,000 veterans and their spouses hired by the end of next year.
