Duo charged in Orangeburg Wal-Mart purse nabbings
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) - Two people were arrested in connection to the string of purse snatchings that happened at a Wal-Mart store in Orangeburg, deputies said Thursday.
Jordan Recardo Dove and Ronee Alicia Kirby were both charged with three counts of petit larceny. Deputies said there have been three purse snatchings in the Wal-Mart since the start of the year.
"After the release of the photos of the two individuals seen stealing purses in Wal-Mart, our officers have received a number of leads from CrimeStoppers and citizens providing information about persons in the surveillance images," said Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.
According to Ravenell, Dove and Kirby tried to run from officers while a warrant was being executed. As a result of fleeing, the duo was also charged with failing to stop for blue lights and child endangerment for having an unrestrained child in the vehicle.
