RAVENEL, S.C. (WCIV) -- Investigators say lightning is to blame for an early morning house fire in Ravenel.
Firefighters were called to the home on County Line Road just after 2:30 a.m., according to Dorchester County Fire Chief Tres Atkinson.
Officials say light smoke was showing in the two story residence when they arrived. Firefighters also found fire in the attic. Residents called 911 and said they smelled smoke and heard crackling in the walls. All residents were able to get out of the home safely and are staying with neighbors.
There is smoke and water damage in the home.
