      2013 Primetime Emmy nominations announced

      CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Morning newscasts tuned in Wednesday as actors Aaron Paul and Neil Patrick Harris took to the stage to name the 2013 nominees for the Primetime Emmy Awards.

      ABC's hit comedy "Modern Family" grabbed a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series and dominates the comedic supporting actor category with three nominations for Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O'Neill and Ty Burrell. Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen were also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

      Connie Britton of "Nashville" and Kerry Washington of "Scandal" face off for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.

      ABC's reality and late night shows were also recognized. "Shark Tank," "Dancing with the Stars" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" were all nominated in their respective categories.

      Favorite Charleston native Stephen Colbert could also go home with an Emmy, nominated for Outstanding Variety Series.

      For the first time, shows only available online garnered attention from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. "House of Cards" from Netflix was nominated in three categories and Jason Bateman is nominated in the comedic actor category for "Arrested Development," also on Netflix.
