CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- In addition to being the largest women's only tennis tournament in the world, the Family Circle Cup offers fun for the whole family with an Easter egg hunt, SmashZone, a family weekend and of course, lots of tennis.
It's all located at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island.
Family weekend kick starts on Saturday, March 31 and continues until Sunday, April 1. Children 12 and under are free and adults get in for $10. Tickets allow unlimited access to all activities starting at 10 a.m.
Children have a variety of activities to fill their weekend, including face painting, children's yoga, cookie decorating, magicians and jump castles, just to name a few.
Appearing for the first time at the Family Circle Cup, the USTA SmashZone is sure to be a big hit! Wednesday, April 4 through Friday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., children ages 10 and under can enjoy playing tennis in inflatable courts. More than 1,500 students from Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties are attending field trips to SmashZone.
On Easter Sunday, April 8, the tennis center will offer you the chance to bring the kids to the Grand Lawn for an Easter egg hunt. The hunting will begin at noon. Thousands of eggs will be hidden. Also, bring the little ones for a special visit from the Easter Bunny.
The Family Circle Tennis Center is home of the Family Circle Cup and World TeamTennis Finals Weekend. It is owned by the City of Charleston and is operated by Meredith Corporation. The Tennis Center boasts a 10,200 seat stadium, Grand Lawn, 17 tennis courts lighted for night play and a Pro Shop. Charleston was voted the "Best Tennis Town in America" in a 2010 USTA contest.
