Father arrested, girl injured during shoplifting

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston Man was arrested on shoplifting charges after his daughter showed up in a hospital with cuts to her face and body.

According to North Charleston police, 40-year-old Cozzack Green was charged with shoplifting and unlawful conduct towards a child. {}Police said Green's sister took his daughter to an area hospital and told officials that the injuries happened during a crime.

During an interview with Green, he admitted to stealing $13 worth of diapers and wipes from the CVS on Montague Avenue. {}Green added that the injuries to his daughter happened while fleeing the store.

The police report did not state how the injuries occurred.

Green is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing.
