Coroner: Fighter dead after MMA bout

      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County Deputy Coroner Dottie Lindsay{}has confirmed 30-year-old Tyrone Mims from Augusta, GA{}died after an MMA fight Saturday night.

      According to the Deputy Coroner,{}30-year-old Mims{}collapsed after the fight, was taken to the hospital{}and died at 9:27 P.M.

      The cause of death is unknown at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning.

      The mixed martial arts fight, called "Fight Night at the Point 6" was held by Conflict MMA Promotions and{} took place at the Omar Shrine Center at Patriots Point.

      The promoters of the fight said they could not comment but would release more information in the morning.

      Witnesses on the scene tell ABC News 4 that the injury happened during the second fight of 14 scheduled for the night. They also tell us they saw EMS performing chest compressions on the injured fighter before he was taken to the hospital.
