Firefighters investigating early morning fire in Summerville

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - An empty{}two-story building was damaged by fire early Wednesday morning. Now investigators are investigating what started the fire.

According to Old Fort Fire Department investigators, the fire at the two-story building at the intersection of Highway 61 and Highway 17A started around 5 a.m.

An old bait and tackle shop used to sit in the first floor and the second floor was an apartment, officials said. However, both levels have been empty for months.
