SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - The annual Flowertown festival is now in full bloom. On Friday, the festival bustled with folks visiting as well as those playing tourists in their home town.
"Every year on Friday morning we start," said one local.
The event is a sought out food destination with its generous offerings of flavored beverages and feel good food. Lisa Villa said she comes for a special item each year.
"Every year we have to come at least once for the pork grinds," she exclaimed.
The three-day event is an oasis for unique gifts. There are more than 200 vendors that partake in the event.
"I do the greater portion of my Christmas shopping here," said Priscilla Fletcher. "I come every year, but this year I came prepared with my wagon because I usually come out of here tripping on things."
There is something for everyone at this event. There is live entertainment daily and many activities for kids.
The festival runs Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 9 p.m. to 4 p.m.
