Former SC sub teacher charged with student sex

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- A Galivants Ferry man who worked as a substitute teacher at Aynor High School has been indicted on charges of having sex with a student.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reported the grand jury in Horry County indicted 33-year-old Jerry David Love Jr., on sexual battery charges.

The indictment says a 16-year-old student told school administrators she had a sexual relationship with Love between May of 2012 and March of 2013.

Horry County schools spokeswoman Teal Harding says Love was removed from the substitute teacher list. Harding says none of the alleged activity occurred at school.

The teen said Love picked her up after school and they went to an abandoned golf course to have sex.

It was not clear if Love has an attorney.
