Fort D student artwork picked as SC missing children's day poster

      SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - A Fort Dorchester ElementarySchool student's art skills will be on display across the country. The fifthgrader's poster for National Missing Children's Day was picked to represent thestate in a national contest.

      Julie Stanton found out this week that her poster wasselected by a panel of judges who looked at entries from across the state.

      The contest was open to fifth graders to demonstrate thetheme "Bring Our Missing Children Home."

      "I thought it would help put an end to kidnapping and also Ithink that every child should be able to be home with their family.{} I hope that this poster helps bring missingchildren home," said Stanton.

      Stanton's entry now heads to Washington, D.C. for thenational judging. The winner will be announced in April and the winning studentwill travel to the nation's capital with his or her parents and participate inthe Missing Children's Day Ceremony.{}
