Free Thanksgiving meals provided for low-income families

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Just in time for Thanksgiving, local leaders are getting into the giving spirit.The Annual Lowcountry Thanksgiving Turkey and Gift Card Giveaway is being hosted by Rep. Wendell Gilliard, Councilman James Lewis and the Nichols Chapel A.M.E. Church.Free meals will be provided for homeless veterans, low income families and senior citizens. The giveaway is scheduled for Tuesday November 25 at the Nichols Chapel A.M.E. Church at the corner of President and Kennedy Streets from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.Attendees may also register for a voter registration card on site.In years past, the Annual Lowcountry Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway helped over 3000 families celebrate the holiday.If you have questions regarding the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway and Dinner Campaign, call 843-860-1737 for more information.
