KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- The PGA isn't just all about golf, it's also about being fit.

This week, golf fans will be given the opportunity to experience this first-hand through a program called "Let's Move on Course!"

The goal of the program is to show people that golf is a fun way to help stay in shape. Twenty-five thousand free pedometers will be available to fans attending the 94th PGA Championship.

"People are out walking about anyway. You know the thing is you want to be healthy, but also you are here enjoying something that you like," said Tracy Hickenbottom with the Hospital for Special Surgery.

The program is to promote the healthy impact of walking the golf course. It is sponsored by the Hospital of Special Surgery. You can even keep track of your steps online at HSS.edu/golf.

"It measures your heel strikes, so that tells you how active you are being for the day," said Hickenbottom.

Free pedometers will also be handed out to folks attending the Get Golf Ready Family Fun Zone held at various locations in Charleston.
