Friday Football Frenzy: Scores, highlights, and more from Week 2

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- It's the second full week of the high school football season and there were several big games on the slate for the night.

The week started with Baptist Hill's 37-0 rout of Burke.

Summerville takes down Berkeley, 43-20

MONCKS CORNER--Summerville's Sawyer Bridges continues to develop as a quarterback, and the Green Wave continues to come up with big plays.

Summerville ventured into Berkeley's Bonner Stadium for its annual clash of football titans and proved to be too much with a 43-20 victory over the Stags in front of about 4,000 fans.

Wando beats Ashley Ridge, 45-26

MOUNT PLEASANT - A week after being held to 14 points in a narrow loss at Beaufort, Wando rebounded with a powerful offensive performance and success in the red zone to defeat Ashley Ridge, 45-26, Friday night at Wando Stadium.

Kenny Waring served as the offensive catalyst for the Warriors, rushing for 236 yards and three touchdowns. The junior running back now has six on the young season after also recording a trio of scores in the season opener against James Island.

West Ashley over James Island, 23-17

The West Ashley Wildcats rolled up 460 yards of offense and held off James Island for a 23-17 victory Friday night at Wildcat Stadium. The win put the Wildcats at 2-0, doubling their win total from a year ago.

The night started ominously for West Ashley as the Wildcats drove 65 yards on their first series only to see quarterback Pedro Manigault fumble into the end zone to thwart the drive.

Goose Creek beats Colleton County, 77-30

GOOSE CREEK Unfortunately for Colleton County's football team, its best offensive performance in three seasons came on the same night as its worst defensive effort in school history.

No. 3-ranked Goose Creek demolished Colleton County Friday night, 77-30, in Class AAAA non-region play at Charles B. Gibson Stadium to improve to 2-0 on the season.
