      Fundraiser for local shrimper

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- A fundraiser is being held this weekend for a shrimper who received a call this week that his boat was sinking in Shem Creek.

Fire crews, two pollution response teams and another local shrimper used water pumps to keep Tommy Edwards' Mrs. Judy Too above water.

Edwards said his motor was underwater and if the motor dies, his shrimping career will too.

He estimated it would take between $7,000 and $10,000 to fix the engine.

The fundraiser will be held Saturday from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Arts and Bare Grill on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant.

There will be live music, BBQ pork with all the fixings and raffles.
