Charleston, S.C. (WCIV) -- In case you haven't noticed, gas prices are going up and they're rising quickly
In just the past week, the average cost of a gallon of gas has gone up 13 cents, from $3.09 to $3.22. In Charleston, the price is even higher at $3.25 a gallon.
So why the sudden spike? Analysts believe Iran's threat to close a vital waterway for global oil shipments is to blame.
