MURRELS INLET, S.C. (WCIV) -- A teen girl missing since Saturday night was found safe and returned to her home thanks to an alert beachgoer and the power of social media.
According to deputies, 14-year-old Charlotte Ann Wills was last seen in Murrells Inlet Saturday night.
On Sunday, a woman saw Wills sitting alone on the beach in Garden City then later recognized her while browsing social media from home. The woman called deputies and went back to the beach to help find the missing girl.
Wills was visiting her grandmother on Tremont Avenue when she went to the Kangaroo station on Highway 17 at Highway 707.
Wills lives in Conway, deputies said. Her family told deputies she has no friends in the area she could have gone to visit Saturday night.
Deputies did not say why Wills ended up in Garden City.?
