GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A call about a suspicious vehicle in Georgetown County led to burglary charges for one man.

According to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Gerald Anthony Greene, of Georgetown, was charged with one count of third-degree burglary and one count of possession of stolen property.

Deputies say they were called to a Ruffin Court home on Tuesday afternoon in reference to a burglary in progress. According to deputies, the victim confronted the burglar, who ran from the home. Deputies later found the suspect, identified as Greene, hiding in shrubs on Sollie Circle.

      Greene was arrested without incident.

Deputies say they also found a stolen van that had been reported missing from another nearby street earlier in the day.

Greene is currently being housed at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
