Georgetown police searching for armed robbery suspect

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- Georgetown police are searching for a man they say stole money from a person that was forced to drive to an ATM, according to the department's Facebook page.

Officials updated the Facebook page late Monday night.

According to the post, the suspect targeted a person along the 100 block of Orange Street. The suspect showed a gun when he approached the victim. The subject got into the back seat of the victim's car and demanded money, according to police.

The victim drove the suspect to the ATM at Wells Fargo on Front Street. The victim withdrew money and gave it to the suspect. The victim later jumped out of the vehicle and escaped on foot.
