GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCIV) -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a school bus crash that sent seven people, including four students to the hospital early Thursday morning.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 7:45 a.m. on Highmarket Street near Merriman Street, leaving the roadway blocked.
Trooper Sonny Collins said a car was at a stop sign on Merriman Street when a Ford Expedition came up behind too fast and side swiped the car. The SUV then slid onto Highmarket Street where it was stuck by the school bus.
Collins says the driver of the school bus as well as four students went to the hospital. The driver and a passenger from the Expedition were also sent to the hospital. Collins says none of the injuries are life-threatening.
Charges are pending the completion of the investigation. The roadway was blocked for just under 3 hours.
