MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - The Grand Strand has gotten a Big Break.
The Golf Channel's series latest chapter was filmed at several courses in Myrtle Beach. The show will premiere October 7th.
Six men and six women seeking a jumpstart to their golf careers will take part in several competitions at Barefoot Resort with the winner receiving among other prizes an exemption to a PGA Tour or LPGA Tour event in 2015.
The series' latest season was filmed on three of Barefoot Resorts courses, one each designed by Pete Dye, Tom Fazio and Davis Love III. An episode was also filmed at Pawley's Plantation, a Jack Nicklaus-designed layout that's south of Myrtle Beach on Pawley's Island.
The competition series began in 2003 and has never been to South Carolina.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
