Goodwill clearance center back open for business

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Goodwill Clearance Center and Computer Works stores in North Charleston are now open again for business.

A special ceremony and ribbon cutting took place Friday morning on Rivers Avenue.

The computer works store will over refurbished laptops and desktops as well as a variety of gaming systems. Staff members will also take a look at computers and help rid them of viruses and spyware.

The clearance center is also very popular.

"Well, number one, I think it shows the tremendous support for Goodwill, but also I think it shows the tremendous need that people have.{} Everything is sold by the pound, so it's very affordable, so there's a lot of items here people can get for a fraction of the cost of going to a traditional retailer," said Robert Smith, the president and CEO of Goodwill of Lower South Carolina.

The new stores are located just down the street from the former locations at 6813 Rivers Avenue.
