NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - A new Goodwill computer store held it's grand opening on Friday. The Computer Works retail store on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston employs about 8 people and is accepting computer donations.
The store says they have already recycled about 714,000 pounds of computer equipment.
The new computer center will also provide technology training for veterans and people with disabilities.
"The main piece of this is to further our mission of adding jobs, training people, and giving back to the community," said Chuck Hudson, Goodwill Computer Works Chief Information Officer.
"Good place to come in if you have a child in college or high school and you want to buy them a laptop, bring them in here is a good alternative," Hudson said. "They're not brand new, but almost as good as new."
Goodwill says if you would like to donate any computer, printers, cell phones, or gaming equipment you can drop it all off at the new computer store, or any neighborhood Goodwill store location.
