GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) One Goose Creek man is taking holiday decorating to the extreme. In fact, if you travel to his house, you'd think he brought the North Pole home with him.
To say Danny Shillingford of Cane Break Lane has Christmas spirit is very much an understatement. Every year, his house attracts hundreds of strangers who drive by to check out his amazing light display.
"It's just going to get bigger every year. I can't stop," he said.
Never mind the amazing outdoor decorations, what adds to this home's cool factor are the many lights that dance to the beat of your favorite Christmas songs.
"I try to get a lot of lights after Christmas, and every year I keep adding something new to it," he said. "Everybody can come and take pictures, whatever they want to do."
For Shillingford and his family, Christmas is one of their favorite times of year.
"Oh, man, I love Christmas. I'm actually originally from the Caribbean so doing this here it's awesome," said Shillingford. "A lot of people start asking me about it right around Halloween."
For the last three years, decorating his home has become a tradition and something his neighbors have come to look forward to.
"It's awesome. My kids love it. I put up my Christmas lights because my kids like it, but this guy he has the 'wow factor,'" said neighbor Kevin Dantzler.
And as long as people keep looking forward to his version of the North Pole, those lights will continue to dance and entertain.
"Next year, I think I'm going to go really crazy," he said.
Shillingford plans to keep his light display going through Jan. 1.
