GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police are looking for a suspect following a shooting Friday afternoon off Redbank Road.
According to Captain John Grainger, Goose Creek police responded to the 106 Bar and Grill around 3 p.m. Friday in reference to a shooting.
Once officers arrived on scene, they found a black man with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg inside the building.
Police say the suspect reportedly left the scene on foot and was heading toward the Oaks subdivision. Grainger says a perimeter was then setup in the area of Redbank Rd., US 52, and NAD Rd. with help from the BerkeleyCharleston Sheriffs Office, and the North Charleston Police Department. Berkeley County Sheriff's Office K9 team was called in to track the suspect, while the Charleston County Aviation Unit provided observation from the air.
Authorities say the perimeter has since been discontinued after the suspect was not found, but police do have leads on the identity of a possible suspect.
The victim of the shooting was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
At this time, the motive for the shooting and the relationship between the victim and suspect remain under investigation.
