Guy Harvey exhibit opens at aquarium

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Dr. Guy Harvey's art collection, Canvases for Conservation, opened Friday at the South Carolina Aquarium in downtown Charleston.{}

The aquarium is the first in the country to feature Harvey's works.{}

The artwork will feature wildlife native to South Carolina, including the bald eagle, rainbow trout, alligator, redfish, marlin, and sharks.{}

"Theseamazing works of art will inspire our guests to see the natural world in aprofoundly new way," remarked Kevin Mills, Aquarium president and CEO.{} "Together, the Aquarium, Guy Harvey and theGuy Harvey Ocean Foundation share the belief that we can protect the naturalworld through a concerted call to action."

Each of the pieces will be available for purchase with proceeds directly supporting conservation and education programs at the South Carolina Aquarium and research by the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation.
