CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Gov. Nikki Haley said she's just waiting on the state Legislature to get a bill to her desk that would allow people with concealed weapons permits to carry their gun into restaurants and bars.
The governor posted the following update to her Facebook page.
"For those asking about S308, the Restaurant Carry bill. I haven't signed the bill yet because the legislature has not sent it to my desk. While they have passed the legislation, they haven't ratified it. Once i (sic) receive it, i will sign it."
The bill does state that the permit holder may not consume alcohol while in possession of their weapon.
The bill also suggests bar owners place a sign in their restaurants or bars if they don't want concealed weapons inside. They may also ask anyone they see carrying a weapon into their business to leave.
