Haley to see Myrtle Beach town officials on bikers
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Gov, Nikki Haley is planning to meet with leaders of Atlantic Beach, two months after she said the beach town's biker rally had to end following a Memorial Day shooting rampage in which three people were killed.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports (http://bit.ly/1AjFhth) Haley and the Atlantic Beach Town Council are meeting on Tuesday at the community center.
Town Manager William Booker said he expects the discussion to be held in executive session. Public bodies are required by the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act to meet in open session.
In June, Haley said she wanted to end the Atlantic Beach Bikefest after the slayings at a Myrtle Beach motel 14 miles away.
Atlantic Beach Mayor Jake Evans has said he has no plans to end the event.
