LAKE CITY, S.C. (AP) - A new report shows that this year's inaugural Artfields arts festival in Lake City had an economic impact of about $5 million for the area.
The Morning News of Florence reports an analysis by Miley & Associates of Columbia found that an estimated 22,000 people visited Lake City during the April festival spending an average of $33.
The direct employment for the 10-day festival was 49 jobs.
ArtFields featured 400 pieces of art in both public venues and stores throughout Lake City's business district.
The name of the festival conjured both the art as well as the area's fertile fields.
