Investigators identify person of interest in cat death
FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials with the Folly Beach Police Department say they have a man in custody they believe to be a person of interest in the recent violent death of a cat.
Officials with the Folly Beach Police Department say the man was taken into custody on charges not related to the cat's death. Currently, according to investigators, his clothing is being processed for evidence.
If charged, the charge would be animal cruelty.
According to a report from the Folly Beach Public Safety department, Judy, the eight-year-old family pet of a local businessman, was found killed Tuesday. Her body was discovered stabbed three times and left impaled on a piece of rebar that was sticking out of a brick at a vacant lot known as the "Butterfly House."
Pet Helpers is offering a $500 reward to help police find the killer.
