Investigators in Summerville release sketch of man wanted in 2003 murder

      Sketch

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Summerville Police Department has requested help identifying a man wanted in connection to a 2003 murder.

Officials say the suspect is a black male in his early to mid 20s. He's wanted in connection to the 2003 murder of David Boone.

On the evening of November 4, 2003, David Boone was sitting in the driveway of his Palmetto Park home when a driver of a white SUV (possibly a two-door Ford Explorer or Bronco) pulled up and asked Boone a question. As Boone was speaking to the driver, an armed passenger exited the SUV and shot Boone to death.

The gunman then re-entered the SUV and fled the scene. Investigators say the sketch to the left of this article is a composite of the driver who was seen operating the SUV during Boone's murder.

Anyone with information on the subject or about David Boone's murder is asked to contact the Summerville Police Department at 843-851-4100 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
