IOP approves news dog license policy

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCIV) -- If you live on Isle of Palms or own property, you probably should know that you dog now needs a license.

At its February 23 meeting, the Isle of Palms city council approved a new dog license policy that would require residents and property owners to register their furry friends for a cost of $5. As a part of the process, owners are required to show proof of a rabies shot.

Dog licenses can be purchased at the public safety building at 30 J.C. Long Boulevard. No special collar will be required. Dog licenses are not required for dogs of visitors.
