iPhone tracking leads to arrest of 3 in downtown Charleston robbery
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -Three people were arrested shortly after police say they robbed aman on Broad Street in downtown Charleston because they tracked them with theFind My iPhone software.
According to a police report, 18-year-oldSamuel Taylor, 21-year-old Michelle Sims and 21-year-old Raheem Baileyapproached the man and demanded money. One of the three assailants had a gun,police said.
The victim said he had seen thethree people before at the convenience store on State Street.
Police say Taylor, Sims andBailey made off with the man's iPhone, wallet, a pack of cigarettes and $30 incash. The man helped police track the phone with the Find My iPhone app, whichfound the trio heading into North Charleston on Interstate 26.
With the help of North Charleston police,the three people were arrested and charged with armed robbery.
Sims was also charged withfinancial card transaction fraud. Taylor and Bailey were charged with unlawfulpossession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Court dates have not been setfor the three suspects.
