Johns Island man accused of sex assault of 13-year-old

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Johns Island man was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct after a 13-year-old girl accused him of attacking her.

According to a Charleston County Sheriff's Office report, 33-year-old Johnny Tamara Brown was charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a juvenile.

The report states that officers were sent to Medical University Hospital last Thursday after a woman took her teen daughter to the hospital. The incident report states the woman was told by the teen's 2-year-old sister that "Squirt was on [the teen's] back."

Squirt is Brown's nickname, according to the report. An affidavit shows Brown is a registered sex offender.

Brown surrendered to deputies and was placed in the Charleston County Detention Center, the report states.
