CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston firefighters were called to a structure fire on Upper King Street Monday afternoon.
According to fire officials, there were reports of smoke coming from a three-story building that housed the bar Torch as well as some apartments.
The first crews to respond found a fire in the outer wall of the building and quickly put it out.
While crews investigated and put the fire out, King Street was briefly closed between Spring and Mary streets. Cannon and Spring streets were also closed between St. Philip and King streets, officials said.
Officials said the fire was completely contained to the cavity on the side of the structure; there was no smoke or fire damage to the interior of the building.
Officials said the cause of the fire is still under investigations.
Bar owners said they only have water damage to deal with and should reopen by the end of the week.
