Kittenpalooza to take over Northwoods Mall

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- More than just hot summer fashions can be found at the mall this weekend. You could find an adorable pair of kittens to go with that new outfit.

The folks at PetHelpers say they're bursting at the seams with little furry friends and to help find homes for them all, they're hosting Kittenpalooza at Northwoods Mall.

The adoption and fostering event will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Dillard's Court.

Kittens will be available for just $25 and come spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested, treated, microchipped and with PetHelpers' Pet Helper Promise.

Fun events include a kitten carousel and Ferris wheel and a chance to win prizes with the Wheel of Furrtune.

Pet-themed vendors including Tucker's Treats, My Pet's Silhouette and Find Love in Pitbulls will be on hand and Unchain Charleston will be selling t-shirts while artist Missy Johnson of Dogs 4 the Paws draws caricatures. "Kittenpalooza is a fun event addressing a serious problem," Pet Helpers Executive Director Kevin Ryan said. "Our community has experienced an unprecedented number of kittens this year. Pet Helpers and other shelters are absorbing at an alarming rate and we need your help! By adopting a kitten from Pet Helpers you can find your new best friend as well as make room for us to save even more lives. Come discover what an amazing gift rescuing an animal can be."
