      N.Charleston woman wins Obama t-shirt design contest

      NORTH CHARLESTON, S. C. (WCIV)- A Lowcountry woman who vowed to enter more contests has another win under her belt. Her latest honor- winning an Obama campaign{}t-shirt design competition.

      In June, Laurel Stender of North Charleston was announced as one of nine finalists in the "Runway to Design" contest. She was the only one from South Carolina.

      "I volunteered for the campaign in '08 and I was just excited to find{}a way this year, creative way, to support the president. I believe in what he is doing. I'd love to see him get re-elected."{}Stender's name is now listed among the who's who of fashion design.{}"It's just amazing.{}I get to have my name right up there next to Marc Jacobs and all these other really famous designers from the U.S. I'm in great company and it couldn't be for a better cause."{}Laurel's t-shirt can be found in Obama's online campaign store.{}{}
