Leading scholars in SC for War of 1812 symposium
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Leading scholars on the War of 1812 are meeting in Charleston for a symposium marking the bicentennial of the conflict.
The seminar is sponsored by The Citadel and the Old Exchange Building. It's to be held Saturday at the Old Exchange.
Among the speakers are Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Alan Taylor as well as J.C.A. Stagg, the editor of the James Madison Papers and R. David Edmunds, a leading authority on Native American participation in the war.
