Library gets grant to promote online services

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston COunty Library has won a grant to help fund their eLibrary program.The $10,000 federal grant will go towards informing the community about free downloadable eLibrary services.According to library officials they plan to buy equipment and create a presentation to show residents what's available on the library's website.Users can download books, audio books, magazines, music, music videos and interactive children's stories and activities. All you need is a CCPL library card. Once the presentation is completed, library staff will visit neighborhood associations, school groups, business organizations and other community groups. The grant was awarded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and is being administered by the S.C. State Library.

Dorchester and Berkeley County residents can also access downloadable content from their library systems.
