Local museum offers free admission for military members
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Starting on Memorial Day, active duty military personnel and their families will be able to visit a local fire museum for free. The North Charleston and American LaFrance Fire Museum and Educational Center is partnering with Blue Star Museums and will have free admission for military members through Labor Day."We at the North Charleston American LaFrance Fire Museum and Educational Center understand the sacrifices members of the military and their families make on a daily basis," said Museum Coordinator Renee Fry. "And as a small token of our appreciation, we are proud to participate in this wonderful program." Blue Star Museums partners with more than 2,000 museums across the country. This year is the fifth year of participation for the Fire Museum."Blue Star Museums has grown into a nationally recognized program that service members and their families look forward to each year," said Blue Star Families Chief Executive Officer Kathy Roth-Douquet. "It helps bring our local military and civilian communities together, and offers families fun and enriching activities in their home towns. We are thrilled with the continued growth of the program and the unparalleled opportunities it offers."
