Locked door keeps Dollar General employees safe
RAVENEL, S.C. (WCIV) -- A locked door was enough to hold off a gunman who was trying to get into a Dollar General on Savannah Highway in Ravenel.
A spokesperson for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office says employees called 911 when the gunman started banging at the locked door around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Employees refused to open the door. The suspect took off on foot, according to officials.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'05" - 5'06", slender build, wearing dark pants, black gloves, and a black sweatshirt. The Sheriff's Office K9 Unit responded to the scene, but was unable to track the suspect. There were no reports of injury to any of the establishment's employees.
