      Lowcountry Food Bank in need of donations

      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Lowcountry Food bank will be featured Wednesday in the Volunteer 4 Phonebank. {}The organization has been providing hunger-relief services throughout 10 coastal S.C. counties for more than 30 years.

      Each day the LCFB advocates on behalf of {}220,000 people.{}

      If you would like to help the food bank you can donate canned goods at Lowcountry Food Bank donation centers or drop off a monetary donation at 2864 Azalea Dr., Charleston, SC 29405. {}One dollar can provide food for a family of six.{}The food bank is also always in need of volunteers. {}For more information call into the Phonebank between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The number is 881-5837. {} If you can't get to the phone during that time you can also call two other numbers any time of the day. {}Those numbers are: Dial 2-1-1 or (843) 744-HELP or 1-800-922-2283.{}Here is a list of some of the most needed foods:{}PastaCerealRiceCanned vegetables and fruitsCanned meatsBeansClick here to see other ways you can help.
