Lowcountry groups hold another homeowner workshop
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Following a strong turnout last month, several nonprofit groups are holding another Lowcountry workshop for homeowners in danger of defaulting on their mortgages or worried they may fall behind on their payments.
The Dorchester Prosperity Center in Summerville is holding the Wednesday event, working with the Trident United Way, Palmetto Goodwill and Family Services, Inc.
The groups held a similar workshop last month and because of the large number of people who attended, a second session was organized.
Homeowners in danger of default can meet with advisers. They may be eligible for mortgage modifications and bringing past mortgage payments current. They may also qualify for lower interest rates and payments.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
