FORT MILL, S.C. (AP) - LPL Financial is moving its regional headquarters across the border to Fort Mill, eventually employing 3,000 people.
The nation's largest independent broker is the second company Monday to announce it's relocating from Charlotte, North Carolina. It currently employs more than 1,000 people across several locations in Charlotte. Construction in Fort Mill is expected to start next year.
The Lash Group also plans to consolidate in South Carolina. The patient support company is bringing its corporate headquarters 7 miles south. About half of its eventual 2,400 employees will be new hires.
Earlier Monday, Singapore-based Giti Tire announced plans to open its first North American plan in Chester County.
