Man accused of 2002 murder of cab driver denied bond
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - The man accused of killing a North Charleston man in his taxi cab remains behind bars.
Derrick Wright was arrested last year, charged with the murder of 64-year-old Eugene Thomas. This month a circuit court judge denied bond for Thomas.
Thomas was found stabbed to death inside his taxi in 2002. The case went cold and Thomas' photo and case information was featured in Crime Stoppers' unsolved homicide deck of cards.
North Charleston Police arrested Wright following a tip in November 2010. Later, police say Wright confessed to them that he stabbed Thomas.
