Man arrested for car break-ins on James Island

JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man was arrested and charged with a Dec. 13 car break-in on Old Plantation Road.

According to Charleston police, 20-year-old Thomas Maybank was charged with two counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and simple possession of marijuana.

Police say Maybank was arrested after being served with arrest warrants at his Old Plantation Road home. At the time of his arrest, police say they also found marijuana and several items reportedly stolen in the break-ins, including an iPod, a phone charger, a pair of sunglasses, a collection of CDs and money.{}

Police say both vehicles were left unlocked before the thefts.

Maybank is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
