Man arrested for January armed robbery in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A downtown Charleston man was arrested this week for a strong armed robbery that happened several blocks from his home.

According to police, 22-year-old Jamal Rashard Rollerson, of Gordon Street, has been charged with strong armed robbery.

Police say the robbery happened around 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 4 when Rollerson and another man robbed the victim of his iPhone and a bag. The robbery happened near the corner of Chalmers and State streets.

Rollerson is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
