NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested and charged a North Charleston man with kidnapping Thursday, said officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.Deputies responded to the end of Pine Hill Road on Aug. 10, where the body of Nathaniel Forbes, 35, of Charleston, was found, officials said. On Aug. 9, Delvin Seagers, 34, of 2799 Ranger Driver, paid Forbes $8,000 for drugs, according to court records. At 9:30 p.m. the night of the deal, a witness who was with Forbes said Forbes left his home to fix a problem that happened during the drug deal, court records state.Deputies said two hours later, the witness began receiving phone calls from Forbes' cell phone but identified the caller as Seagers. Seagers told the witness Forbes was "with my friends, some of my homeboys" and identified himself as the person who paid Forbes earlier that night, according to court records.Seagers told the witness he wanted the money back from the drug deal, deputies said.According to court documents, the witness could hear Forbes in the background saying he could not see, leading the witness to believe Forbes was being held against his will.Another witness told detectives Forbes was seen leaving the Hess Express on Sam Rittenburg Boulevard on Aug. 9 at about 11:30 p.m. with Seagers and another person, court documents state.
Seagers has a bond court hearing scheduled for Friday. Detectives are still investigating the incident. If you have any information, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 554-1111.
