CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police were called to St. Andrews Gardens Apartments on Ashley River Road early Monday morning for reports of shots fired.

According to the police report, the victim said Gavin Generius Brown fired two shots inside her apartment while their children were in the home.

The victim said Brown asked to come over to get his belongings but when he arrived he began arguing with their daughter. The victim asked Brown to leave and the daughter reportedly grabbed a knife to protect herself.

The victim said Brown began shouting "Y'all trying to stab me," and "I feel threatened! I feel threatened!"

That's when Brown reportedly pulled a brown and silver "old western style gun" out of his pocket, fired two shots at the ceiling and ran from the home.

Police noted that the couple have two children, ages three and two, who were in a bedroom directly behind the wall that was hit by one of the bullets.

Brown was located and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. He was also charged with first degree assault and battery, two charges of neglect of a child and discharging a firearm within city limits.

Brown also has a previous warrant with the Charleston County Sheriff's office for failure to pay child support.

He was given a bond of $200,000.
